As a Production Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of our designated groups. Your responsibilities will include setting targets, implementing plans, and tracking results to drive continuous improvement. You'll also lead your team in problem-solving initiatives and facilitate workshops to enhance quality improvement methods.
Your role extends beyond performance management – you'll also be responsible for handling personnel issues, ensuring proper team management, and fostering individual development within your team. Safety is paramount, and you'll work diligently to maintain compliance with Group Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, intervening when necessary to mitigate risks and improve working conditions.
Minimum education level:
- Associate's degree in engineering/Diploma, with a specialisation in Production
Professional Experience:
- 1-3 years of production experience, preferably in the automotive industry
- Team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Position Overview
The Production Supervisor manages a team of operators, and coordinates production, maintenance and other activities as determined by Plant Manager. As the floor supervisor for all four production areas (thermo, paint, preform and bead blending), he/she follows up on operator concerns and execution of the production plan. Responsibilities include coordination with the maintenance technician(s) for prioritizing and executing repairs, review of daily operating instructions with area lead operators, managing performance of all operators, and monitoring the process daily for proper operation. These responsibilities include all safety and environmental issues, process reliability and run time, product quality, process/equipment troubleshooting, training and ensuring the Plant Manager is aware of key information.
How You Will Impact Ingevity & Ozark
- Supervise the production operators by ensuring they have the necessary tools to perform their jobs, communicate in accordance with Ingevity standards to all necessary personnel, and are held accountable for their performance.
- Direct the Lead Operators for each production area and collaborate with them to execute the production schedule.
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager to set production plans for at least a week out and ensure the production team is following this plan.
- If the production plan has not been met, the Production Supervisor must ensure the deviation is investigated and a new production plan is set.
- Coordinate with Safety Manager, Production Engineer, HRBP, Production Planner and others in Greenville, in conjunction with the Plant Manager, to leverage their help executing safe production at the plant.
- Work with Greenville staff to develop training packages and conduct operator training on existing, new, and modified plant equipment and processes.
- If an issue arises in the plant, the Production Supervisor must lead efforts to troubleshoot, coordinate with other resources and resolve the issue.
- Assist with winter outage planning and executing as needed.
- Issue safe work permits and ensure that all floor operations are conducted according to Ingevity safety policies, including use of PPE.
- The Production Supervisor reports to the Greenville Plant Manager
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years related industrial or supervisory experience, or otherwise exhibited supervisory/leadership skills.
- The ability to work safely themselves and to ensure the production team works safely at all times. This requires the fortitude to address unsafe conditions and behaviors immediately and ensure the team works in a similar manner. Implement the concepts of the Zero Harm process.
- An understanding of SAP, plant processes, and production flow is required.
- The ability to discern between and manage changing production priorities, at times under pressure to meet the customers’ needs.
- The ability to multitask in a dynamic environment while maintaining professionalism and conduct expected of an Ingevity leader.
- Must have strong team management skills, strong written and oral communication, and computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, SAP, Proficiency, Electronic Document Management Systems), including planning and scheduling efficiencies.
- The ability to work in a team environment, adhering to the expectations set forth in the Ingeviway in Action guideline. These guidelines are focused on respect for individuals, commitment to excellence and conducting business in an ethical manner.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including significant amounts of overtime during the “busy” season, including evenings and weekends as needed; typically April through September, depending on geographical location.
- This position is overtime eligible.
- This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

- Gestão de uma ou mais linhas de produtos, com aproximadamente 32 a 36 costureiras. Possui diversos recursos, equipamentos, pessoal e materiais para atender às metas de produção diárias, semanais, mensais e anuais.
- Acompanha os relatórios de inventário e de computador, garantindo que os estoques estejam nos níveis aceitáveis e que os pedidos em atraso sejam completados de maneira oportuna. Prioriza e evita situações de falta de estoque. Organiza e direciona os funcionários, tomando decisões e fazendo ajustes para manter o fluxo de trabalho dos operadores.
- Motivar os funcionários para trabalhar em equipe no cumprimento das metas de produção, qualidade e desempenho pessoal. Reconhecer conquistas, incentivar, supervisionar treinamentos e reciclagem de funcionários, avaliar o desempenho dos colaboradores e aplicar ações disciplinares.
- Promover o desenvolvimento das habilidades dos Líderes de Equipe. Garantir a alta qualidade dos produtos fabricados, analisando relatórios e verificando o trabalho dos funcionários. Trabalhar com os membros da equipe e com o pessoal de qualidade em relação a defeitos e processos de qualidade.
- Trabalhar com mecânicos, qualidade, treinamento e outras funções de apoio para garantir que ferramentas, processos, produtos e especificações estejam disponíveis para um fluxo operacional ininterrupto. Identificar e resolver problemas dentro da área de controle. Coordenar soluções com outros departamentos e resolver questões mais complexas que sejam elevadas pelos supervisores ou outros colaboradores.
- Garantir o cumprimento das políticas e procedimentos da empresa em relação a ausências, regras de segurança e registro de entrada e saída. Monitorar os funcionários e manter registros precisos. Manter a folha de pagamento.
Qualifications

A Day In The Life
- Work as a team and maintain excellent working relationships with all employees, maintaining an effective and open communication with all employees and all functions, and encourage employee involvement.
- Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment.
- Assure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure workers are properly trained and equipped with the right tools to do their job correctly.
- Achieve productivity gains while improving quality and meeting customer schedules, working towards reducing costs and eliminating waste.
- Utilize available resources effectively.
- Provide supervisory role in dealing with shop problems and make the decisions necessary to alleviate or remove the problem.
- Perform all related administrative functions effectively.
- Train and motivate workers. Take interest in their jobs and provide clear, concise work instructions.
- Maintain CMC’s commitment to excellence, quality and customer service.
- When necessary, may be required to perform setup inspection, make dispositions and document findings.
- When necessary, may be required to assemble production jobs, handle material, set up tables, and any other job duty associated with the manufacturing of product.
- Be an active participant the various management committees that must be attended. Establish goals and encourage growth and new ideas. Follow-up may be required to achieve goals.
- Be a coach and mentor while coordinating daily workload and facilitating projects.
- Be a liaison between departments and facilities to disperse information and encourage communication.

- Education and/or experience – High school diploma or GED preferred, as well as three years related work experience. Employee must be able to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical functions.
- Language Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memorandums and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills – Basic mathematical skills are required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
- Computer Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registration – Must possess (acquire through training) and maintain fork lift operator certification.
