This is a 12 month + contract position for an SQL Developer that is remote, looking for candidates in Brazil, Argentina, or Chile. The SQL Developer will be responsible for supporting operational and analytical workloads. We are looking for deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, second-nature command of T-SQL, hands-on experience with SSIS, SSDT, SSRS and database performance tuning and strong knowledge of DevOps practices for database development and deployment
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in SQL development with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Advanced proficiency in T-SQL and query optimization techniques.
- Strong experience with SSIS and SSDT for ETL and deployment automation.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and normalization.
- Experience with SSRS, design and troubleshooting reports.
- Familiarity with SQL Server features: Service Broker, Linked Servers, and Database Mail.
- Familiarity with database administration fundamentals (e.g., indexing, partitioning, backup strategies)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Azure SQL or other cloud-based database platforms.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, or Azure Data Engineer Associate).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Build and maintain robust ETL processes using SSIS and SSDT.
- Perform index optimization and query tuning to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Model and maintain relational database schemas to support application and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and application developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support database deployment processes and version control using SSDT and source control tools.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, availability, and integrity.
Compensation will vary depending on experience level - $20-30/hour USD.

SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of Informatics, the SQL Developer is responsible for building and optimizing Microsoft SQL queries, stored procedures, and other database objects to improve system performance and meet business needs.
It is the primary purpose of CHCCC to provide the highest quality of total care possible to the patient population it serves. Such a level of quality depends ultimately on the staff's desire and ability to work together, individually, and as a team. The employee is expected to be professional, punctual, maintain regular attendance, cooperative, motivated, and organized at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned with or without prior notice.
Develops, tests, and maintains complex Microsoft SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects for reporting and analytics.
Creates and updates documentation for new and existing processes and Microsoft SQL scripts.
Helps design relational databases to store and process business data
Collaborates with the Informatics team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
Maintains expertise in athenaOne and NextGen database architecture, clinical workflows, and modules.
Generates routine and ad hoc reports for internal and external customers.
Monitors and troubleshoots CHC Helpdesk tickets as applicable to the use of software systems and issues.
Demonstrates professionalism when calling patients and provides quality customer service using AIDET Standards.
Ability to work with high volume of patients, internal/external customers, and deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
Demonstrates adherence to and observes all safety policies and procedures, including infection control rules and regulations
Demonstrates the knowledge of domestic violence, child and dependent abuse protocols.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence.
Maintains and adheres to HIPAA, employee confidentiality, and privileged communications (patient, employee, and corporation).

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or 5 years of professional experience in Microsoft SQL Server database design and programming. Prior experience working in IT at a Federally Qualified Health Center is preferred. Prior experience with data warehouses and importing and cleansing data from different sources is preferred. Prior experience working with NextGen or athenaOne EHR systems is a plus. Some understanding of medical terminology and ICD-10 and CPT4 coding is a plus. Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak confidently and articulate thoughts clearly and logically when training. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and keyboarding is required. Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills are required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Required to pass a criminal history background check and drug screen upon hire. Annual health examination; annual Tuberculosis skin test clearance or chest x-ray; proof of immunity to MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B; proof of Tdap vaccine; during current flu season, must provide proof of influenza vaccine or a signed declination form. If declined, a flu mask is mandatory during flu season. Health screening requirements are subject to change based on CDC recommendations and federal, state, and/or local public health ordinances.

We are seeking a self-motivated Microsoft SQL developer with two or more years of experience. This is a contract (40 hours per week, initially for six months) position. It is 100% telecommuting .

- Excellent experience in SQL Server

While your primary responsibility will be developing data ingestion and data processing systems in a team environment, you will also have responsibility for engaging with the Proximo staff to discuss status, review requirements, and co-develop with the rest of your team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reading and commenting on technical architecture and functional documentation
- Developing unit test cases for modules and screens you create
- Back-end development in SQL and SSIS/Azure Data Factory
- Optimizing application for maximum speed and scalability
- Supporting other team members during systems and integration testing
- Estimating the labor it will take you to complete work, such as coding a module or function
- Attending and contributing to SCRUM meetings
- Creating documentation (in code and in MS Word) describing how a program you wrote flows
- Translating functional and technical requirements to implement solutions
- Experience working remotely with team members who are located globally
- A dedicated and secure work environment with a reliable internet connection
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
