What You'll Do:
- ER Case Management & Advisory:
Act as a trusted advisor to team members and leaders, providing timely guidance and expert support for resolving workplace issues (disputes, ill health, performance, conduct, separations). Manage external legal support across Asia Pacific. - Policy Development & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with country, federal, state, and local employment laws, if need in collaboration with external support. Play a key role in developing and revising global SUSE people policies, managing employee handbooks, and conducting regular reviews to ensure alignment with SUSE's values and best practices. - Proactive ER & Change Leadership:

What You'll Bring:

Work Flexibility: Remote
The Employee Relations Specialist will provide support on Work Environment investigations being led by the Employee Relations management team. The ER Specialist will work in collaboration with investigators serving as a witness and note taker during investigations, reviewing detailed evidence, writing case summaries and providing observations and recommendations to improve the process and/or outcomes.
What you will do-
· Support workplace investigations conducted by the Employee Relations team by serving as second chair in interviews, drafting questions, reviewing evidence, and preparing investigation summaries.
· Collaborate with Employee Relations, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure proper processes during investigations.
· Manage Ethics Hotline and ServiceNow cases, including triage, case assignment, maintaining confidentiality, and data analysis.

· Provide trend analysis , accurate reports, and proactive recommendations to improve processes and support decision-making.

Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, high quality service and delightful customer experience. The specialist also provides first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating appropriate resources. As part of the Lifecycle team, you will drive process improvements in line with Remote's strategic goals and values.
What you bring- Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law are a plus.
- Experience independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; providing comprehensive HR advice on employment laws across jurisdictions.
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigations.
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Superior communication, influencing, conflict management and negotiation skills; ability to lead difficult conversations with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Business-level English (advanced), with additional languages a plus.
- Aptitude for innovating and optimizing processes, including automation and best practices.
- Attention to data integrity and thorough record-keeping.
- Tech-savvy and able to collaborate asynchronously using evolving systems.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, remote, international team; willing to work flexible hours.

- Manage and resolve complex end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions with minimal supervision; prioritize a superior offboarding experience for Remote's clients and employees.
- Provide guidance on termination, resignation and transfer procedures, contracts, and redundancy processes, ensuring legal compliance and best practices.
- Independently lead meetings with clients and external employees (e.g., workforce reductions, administrative hearings, negotiations, settlements) and deliver termination outcomes.
- Navigate complex terminations to achieve positive outcomes, coordinating with multiple stakeholders with competing interests.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance in offboarding activities and audits (payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, unions).
- Draft and tailor termination documents with accuracy, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Process offboarding in Remote's HRIS, collaborating with Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, and others to ensure correct administration.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members and act as a first point of informal escalation on employee relations matters.
- Guide clients in navigating Remote's Employee Relations resources and complex workplace scenarios.
- Assess workplace concerns, identify key facts and applicable laws, and determine potential paths forward.
- Serve as a trusted resource on employee relations, ensuring appropriate handling of complex cases.
- Advocate for process improvements, automation, product development, and improved customer and employee experience in offboarding and employee relations.
- Determine methods and standards on new assignments, applying judgment to achieve results aligned with Lifecycle and Remote needs.
