**This role can be based in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Philippines (Manila), Shanghai (China) or Gurgaon (India) offices.**
Main Tasks:
- Maintains/executes and improves the compliance program in all procurement relevant aspects, eg.
Applicable policies and procedures (e.g. third party due diligence)
Monitoring of business transactions and corporate activities, processes, structures, relations as well as external developments
Training framework and content adaptation
Communicative instruments: e.g. intranet, e-mail / newsletters, MS Teams, etc.
Control framework and relevant first and second level controls
Regular and ad hoc reporting framework
- Ensures regular and ad hoc information flow to all relevant stakeholders for a sound collaboration in between all affected compliance and procurement departments
- Conduct regularly reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensures monitoring of regulatory developments and adaption of Compliance Program accordingly, e.g. attending events, associations and doing research
- Oversees and takes part in relevant projects as needed
- Identifies, organizes and participates proactively in relevant compliance and investigation training, networks and other respective educational activities for further professional development in consultation with the Head of Global Procurement Compliance
Additional Tasks:
Tasks performed regularly in addition to the main duties, but which do not determine the essential character of the position.

- Substitute to the head of global procurement compliance, if needed
Required Training and Education:
+ University degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Economics, Law or similar specialization
+ Additional certifications may be beneficial
Required Professional Experience:
+ Minimum 6 years of general professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years in operational positions in the field of compliance / risk management, regulatory and/or procurement, preferably in the healthcare industry, is beneficial
+ International experience as well as change and project management experience is beneficial

The Associate Director & Counsel, Global Compliance Investigations, will be responsible for conducting confidential internal investigations on behalf of Zimmer Biomet. - Evaluate and manage hotline and non-hotline complaints and other potential compliance issues, including assessing the matter upfront, triaging matters to the appropriate team member or function, and developing work plans for items handled by the global compliance investigations team;
- Lead and conduct internal investigations, including document review and analysis, interviews, media research, email review, and analyzing other evidentiary sources;
- Leverage other investigation resources as needed, as well as developing findings and memorializing these efforts and final conclusions;
- Engage and oversee outside counsel, including regular contact with outside counsel, auditors, consultants and vendors;

Amazon is seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead our second line of defense (2LoD) compliance team in Brazil, based in São Paulo.
To be successful, you will have extensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) expertise relating to COAF requirements (in the context of e-commerce activities), as well as a detailed understanding of BCB requirements for payments and lending activities (acquiring / money remittance services / lending).
As a leader with 3 direct reports, you will develop compliance strategies and policies to ensure our Store business is compliant with the above regulations, as well as undertake compliance monitoring to understand the health of deployed controls.
Key job responsibilities
- Engage internally across business, legal, operations, and technical teams to understand the upcoming product roadmap and ensure products rolled out are done so with appropriate AML controls. This requires you to advise senior stakeholders on the compliance implications of business decisions, as well as trade-offs based on clear understanding of industry standards.
- Maintain a horizon view of incoming regulations to detect and respond to new regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk; educate management and guide teams in the development of a risk-based and coordinated response across dependent teams.
- Promote a culture of compliance through education and training, proactively engaging with business teams to educate on compliance requirements and the "why" behind regulations.
- Manage the day-to-day functions of the compliance program, including ensuring policies and SOPs are updated, control effectiveness is monitored, and senior management reporting is produced and accurate.
- Manage examination and external audit processes, maintaining productive relationships with external assessors on an ongoing cadence and ensuring timely and accurate response to inquiries.
About the team
Risk and Compliance Solutions (RCS) is Amazon's Financial Crime and Consumer Protection Compliance gatekeeper for payment entities and activities, protecting buyers, brands and selling partners while allowing the organization to scale safely. RCS designs, builds and manages Compliance Programs at the second-line level ensuring i) regulated and non-regulated RCS entities are compliant with applicable requirements, laws and regulations, ii) Amazon secures and maintains regulated licenses required to operate and, iii) Amazon brands can deliver trusted and valued payment experiences.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in compliance, audit or risk management
- Bachelor's degree
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Experience in people management
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Portuguese
- Extensive expertise relating to COAF requirements (in the context of e-commerce activities)
- Detailed understanding of BCB requirements for payments and lending activities (acquiring / money remittance services / lending)
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and proficiency in Excel and SQL
- Professional certification such as CAMS, CRCM, or CRP

In this role you will develop compliance strategies and policies to ensure our business is compliant with all applicable regulations.
The successful candidate will engage internally across business, legal, operations, and technical teams to design and deploy appropriate controls, while also advising stakeholders on the compliance implications of business decisions.

- Collaborate on the definition of compliance requirements, and establish appropriate policies and controls to ensure Amazon meets its obligations.

- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing compliance programs, including risk assessment, policy creation, and employee training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA, LLM, or Master's) in a relevant field such as Law, Business Administration, or Compliance and Ethics.
- Professional certifications such as ACAMS or ICA.
- Experience working in a multinational e-commerce or technology company, particularly in roles involving cross-border compliance issues.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and the use of compliance monitoring tools and technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex compliance projects and driving process improvements.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their impact on compliance, such as AI, and machine learning.

【Key Responsibilities】
1. Ensure compliance with local regulations, including Brazilian Central Bank rules.
2. Develop and maintain local policies and procedures to comply with local AML, KYC and channels requirements.
3. Ongoing monitoring of transactions and client behavior to detect and report suspicious activities.
4. Oversee merchants onboarding processes and industries to ensure compliance with the local regulations and have proper risk assessment.
5. Review local licensing frameworks and triggers. Be the key point of contact with legal and law firm for licensing preparation when company decides to apply for the license.
6. Implement a compliance training program for employees working with the LatAm region to promote a culture of ethics and local regulation awareness.
7. Ensure data privacy and security standards are followed in line with the Brazilian LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados).
8. Have ownership of data verification processes and compliance vendors relationship and payment application.
9. Assess regulatory risks in new products or services, including partnerships with banks, acquirers, and card schemes.
10. Update the company’s compliance framework in response to changes in local regulations
【Who we are looking for】
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in a compliance and AML related discipline preferably with a fintech or payment company.
- Good understanding and knowledge of the Fintech/E-wallets/Online Payment, with relevant AML Compliance Advisory experience.
- Be a trusted advisor and build sound relationships with stakeholders across all lines of businesses, and across functional groups. Must be driven towards being result oriented
