A day in the life
As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will join a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analysing data reports, and conducting interviews.
Your findings help to identify vulnerabilities in our processes, for which you contribute to the development of mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers, maintain their functionality.
You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You also act as point of contact for multiple internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, security service providers, local law enforcement) and subject matter expert in Security and Loss Prevention-related matters.
Finally, you deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams and liaise with various stakeholders on policy and procedure across all management levels.

Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security during business conversations. We do this by preventing security and loss prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents to minimize any negative impact as well as thoroughly investigating security-related incidents to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.
Basic Qualifications
- Complete Bachelor degree
- Experience in loss prevention activities, asset protection, and property security
- Intermediate English (spoken and written communication skills)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
- Availability to work flexible hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications

The Loss Prevention Specialist (LPS) is a key hourly associate position within Amazon Operations. To keep our 24/7 operations network secure and ensure operational continuity, we are looking for hands-on, detail-oriented professionals to join our team.

Purpose of the job
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Sr. Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst to join our Security Operations team. This role focuses on protecting sensitive data across endpoints, cloud services, and email channels by managing and evolving our DLP technologies, policies, and controls. You will be a key influencer to the design and enforcement of security policies and conditional access, working closely with internal stakeholders to safeguard information and support regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate DLP alerts generated by Microsoft Purview, Egress, and endpoint agents across Intune (Windows) and JAMF (macOS).
- Administer and maintain DLP tools and technologies, ensuring they are configured correctly and functioning as intended.
- Analyse incidents to determine true positives, identify root causes, and recommend remediation actions.
- Define, implement, and review DLP policies, data classification, and conditional access rules to ensure alignment with business needs, regulatory requirements and to stay current with evolving threats and industry standards.
- Lead discussions with Information Security, Compliance, Legal, HR, and IT to identify and mitigate data handling risks.
- Conduct periodic reviews of data movement patterns and access controls to ensure ongoing policy effectiveness.

- Lead the development and execution governance and lifecycle of security policies, including documentation, change control, exception handling, and awareness efforts.

Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focused on Data Loss Prevention.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview DLP, Egress, Microsoft Intune, and JAMF Pro preferred.
- Strong understanding of data classification, endpoint protection, email encryption, and cloud DLP.
- Familiarity with conditional access policies, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Zero Trust principles.
- Working knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., Microsoft SC-400, SC-300, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, GIAC) are highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or with SIEM integration for DLP events.
- Knowledge of insider risk detection, UEBA, or behavioural analytics.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional global teams on policy development or risk mitigation.

- Proven Experience: In leadership roles within corporate security, preferably in a manufacturing or large-scale environment.

Job Summary:
- Promote the detection of leaks in internal/external data assets and increase the likelihood of detection through the use of security resources and systems.
- Promote the inspection and elimination of security vulnerabilities (e.g., by conducting a simulated intrusion into the company's IT infrastructure and systems).
- Promote strategies and plans for monitoring data leaks related to important data, such as strategic projects that require intensive security management for a specific period.
Responsibilities;
- Network vulnerability management (performing scanners, mitigating vulnerabilities, and reporting appropriately);
- Monitoring vulnerabilities and implementing risk mitigation measures related to GSOC tickets, CVE Notices, Credential Leaks, APTs, and other threats;
- Managing social media security measures, monitoring vulnerabilities and external and internal risks that may generate incidents;

- Managing activities to ensure subsidiaries control IT inventory with the appropriate security software installed and updated;

Requirements:

A day in the life
As a Loss Prevention Specialist, you will join a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a dedicated geographical area. You perform regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security-related incidents, and loss events. During your investigations, you collect information by monitoring systems and tools, analysing data reports, and conducting interviews.
Your findings help to identify vulnerabilities in our processes, for which you contribute to the development of mitigating measures. You play a key role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing and monitoring the health status of our systems and, jointly with subject matter experts and external suppliers, maintain their functionality.
You interact on a daily basis with our external security service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality security services and a smooth customer experience. You also act as point of contact for multiple internal and external departments (e.g., legal, HR, security service providers, local law enforcement) and subject matter expert in Security and Loss Prevention-related matters.
Finally, you deliver loss prevention-related education and awareness programs to other teams and liaise with various stakeholders on policy and procedure across all management levels.

Sitting within the World Wide Operations Security organization, Security and Loss Prevention supports the accomplishment of Amazons business targets and the strengthening of our brand by effectively protecting against relevant threats and by managing security and loss prevention risks that could:
- Put our associates and customers under jeopardy
- Disrupt the continuity of our business operations
- Inflict damage to our assets
- Have adverse impact on our brand reputation
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promote security during business conversations. We do this by preventing security and loss prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities as early as possible, intervening in unfolding incidents to minimize any negative impact as well as thoroughly investigating security-related incidents to identify and remove root causes, preventing reoccurrence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Complete Bachelor degree
- Experience in loss prevention activities, asset protection, and property security
- Intermediate English (spoken and written communication skills)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
- Availability to work flexible hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Relevant advanced degree, equivalent qualification, or industry certification
- Experience with physical security systems, investigation techniques, and/or managing contract security officers
- Experience in companies with logistics operations, industry, manufacturing environments, and interaction with different stakeholders
