JOB OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in partnering with leadership to strategically coordinate the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and onboarding to fostering continuous faculty and staff development. ORGANIZATIONAL RESULTS:


Talent Development & Retention

Collaborates with school Leadership to monitor and administer professional development programs, ensuring alignment with local and international best practices in areas such as evidence-based instructional strategies and leadership development frameworks.

Maintains an accurate database of professional development experiences to inform future planning and ensure equitable allocation of resources.

Develops and implements career progression frameworks and provides individualized guidance in career development.

Proactively identifies and organizes relevant professional development opportunities (e.g., workshops, speakers, EdCamps).


Attracting & Retaining Talent

Manages the advertisement of positions and ensures the revision of job descriptions, interview questions, and tracking the overall hiring process, in collaboration with hiring managers.

Actively sources and solicits qualified applicants, reviews resumes, conducts initial and subsequent interviews, checks background on applicants, and makes recommendations to hiring managers, as requested.

Assists the Director of Finance and Administration in conducting compensation benchmarking and analysis, and utilizes systems to collect and analyze data on staff development, evaluation, retention, and attrition.

Organizes an overall calendar and individual events which recognize and celebrate the commitment of faculty & staff to EAC, fostering a positive and appreciative work environment.

Conducts interviews with faculty & staff as part of talent assessment and retention efforts.

Supporting performance reviews, tracking goal progress.

Actively sources and solicits qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds, reviews resumes with an equity lens, conducts initial and subsequent interviews, and makes recommendations to hiring managers, as requested, promoting a diverse candidate pool.


Supporting a Positive & Ethical Culture 

Administers employment contracts and oversees the comprehensive onboarding process for all new staff, including a schedule of activities, and facilitates training in child protection and data protection.

Provides comprehensive support and resources to foreign hire staff as they settle into life in Campinas and at EAC.

Plans and implements outings for staff to support inclusion and celebration of the local culture of Campinas.

Collaborates with school Leadership to monitor and administer professional development programs, ensuring alignment with local and international best practices in areas such as evidence-based instructional strategies, leadership development frameworks, and DEIJ best practices.


Compliance and Child Protection

Collaborates with outsourced providers to ensure effective monitoring of EAC's complaint channel, facilitating appropriate incident reporting, including CIPA compliance.

Develops and delivers appropriate compliance training to staff and ensures the fully compliance with HR related laws

Establishes and oversees a robust school-wide system for mandatory child protection training for all EAC staff and third-party providers (liaising with counseling staff and Leadership).

Stays abreast of compliance-related laws and best practices in human resources, both nationally and internationally.

Proactively proposes and implements policy and procedure enhancements that support ethical behavior at EAC.

Develops and implements safer hiring protocols, including enhanced interview processes and comprehensive background, social media, and reference checks.


Wellbeing

Recommends a comprehensive yearly plan, in line with the school's strategic direction, articulating meaningful developments in all aspects of staff wellness.

Conducts research and benchmarking exercises to ensure EAC's approach to staff wellness incorporates new ideas and initiatives.

Establishes mechanisms for regular staff feedback on wellness initiatives, utilizing data to inform continuous improvement.

Collaborates with Leadership to research and recommend new benefits for inclusion in EAC's approach to staff wellness.


Health (physical and mental/emotional)

Develops, promotes, and publishes a comprehensive yearly plan of offerings and events at EAC that support the health and wellbeing of all faculty & staff.

Develops and promotes wellbeing activities for faculty & staff, making use of local resources such as guest speakers and trainers.

Acts as a primary resource, providing advice and guidance to staff on personal wellbeing, and sharing awareness of internal and external resources.

Serves as an internal consultant for faculty and staff on personal matters, such as stress management and relationships, offering evidence-based strategies and resources to support mental health and wellbeing and foster coping mechanisms.


Other duties, as assigned.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education Required: BA in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field
  • Minimum Experience Required: 5+ years of experience
  • HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance (including CIPA)
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle

About the role

Manage and coordinate the company's human resources function across subfunctions, such as recruitment, training and talent development, compensation and benefits, organization development, and employee relations, to meet company’s business requirements.


Responsibilities

About you

Human Resources

The position holder acts as a trusted proxy for the Country Director for the internal response in Brazil and will be responsible for the day-to-day local HR functions. (Recruitment, selection and hiring, benefits administration, implementation of global HR initiatives)

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Recruitment, selection, on-boarding and benefits.

Prepare, publish and follow up on internal and external job advertisements, on the different recruitment platforms.

Ensure that the corporate recruitment policy and process are consistent across local processes (internal documentation, candidate documentation, references, academic checks, creation of the offer, follow-up, approval…)

Partner with candidates at the different stages of the recruitment process.

Organize, prepare and participate in selection interviews.

Keep the supervisor informed about the recruitment, selection and hiring process of new employees.

Provide HR solutions for new employees: conduct orientation sessions, onboarding and update records with new employees.

Ensure the dissemination and compliance with Organizational Protection policies.

Prepare employment contracts for new local/national employees.

Make additions, changes and cancellations of health insurance for national employees.

Review and validate the monthly payroll (salaries, deductions, tax contributions).

Maintain up-to-date data quality in the HR information system (ORACLE and ADP) for employees.

Provide monthly reports to the Regional office with information on headcount, recruitment, income, expenses, execution of mandatory training, among other KPIs.

Supervise the proper follow-up of the procurement processes for supplies, services and consultancies necessary for the operation of the office in the country.

Provide reports to Finance for the annual vacation agreement.

Keep records of in-person and online employees.

Recommend and implement human resources initiatives, aligned with strategic objectives.

Compensation and Benefits

In collaboration with the Regional Human Resources Director, conduct periodic salary scale reviews and benchmarking analysis to ensure competitiveness in the local market.

Periodically review and update job descriptions with supervisors to ensure appropriate salaries and job requirements for new positions.

Communicate any job or salary changes to employees in a timely manner.

Other Responsibilities

Provide technical support and attention (ORACLE and ADP) to local employees.

Provide local follow-up to the performance management process, ensuring timely execution and completion of the process.

Ensure that employee absences, vacations, sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave, time off, and other time off are recorded in the HR information systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completed university degree (Business admiration, Human Resources or other areas)

Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Excellent knowledge of HR principles, rules and procedures and Brazilian labor legislation.

Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Management of HR information systems (ORACLE and ADP preferred)

Acts as a primary resource, providing advice and guidance to staff on personal wellbeing, and sharing awareness of internal and external resources.

Serves as an internal consultant for faculty and staff on personal matters, such as stress management and relationships, offering evidence-based strategies and resources to support mental health and wellbeing and foster coping mechanisms.

Other duties, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education Required: BA in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field
  • Minimum Experience Required: 5+ years of experience
  • HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance (including CIPA)
  • HR Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle

About the role

Manage and coordinate the company's human resources function across subfunctions, such as recruitment, training and talent development, compensation and benefits, organization development, and employee relations, to meet company’s business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the formation of one or more elements of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
  • Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
  • Deliver complex analyses of HR data; identify key trends and contribute to the creation of HR insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues, enhancement of employee engagement, and/or improvement of business performance.
  • Implement HR frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee onboarding and offboarding, and retention of talent, within an area of expertise, to meet business or institution needs and enable the attraction, development, and retention of talent at a sustainable cost. Ensure compliance with specified design principles, internal policies, and external legal requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.
  • Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.
  • Help develop procedures for an area of the organization and monitor their implementation.
  • Deliver a budget for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of HR data collection forms or questionnaires in a specific area of expertise to ensure the collection of relevant data in line with defined requirements.
  • Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions to build their capabilities. Provide training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
  • Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance. Or manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold people accountable for achieving them, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
  • Manage workstreams or small projects within a transformational change program, ensuring integration with related projects; use structured change management methodologies to build acceptance of change and embed desired culture and behaviours.

About you

  • Further/higher education in human resources or business discipline, with 5-8 years prior experience in HR role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing organisation would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to exercise good judgement
  • A team player with a professional and flexible approach to work.
  • Innovative thinking with a passion to make a difference within the HR team and wider business.
  • Proficiency in English, Portuguese and Spanish is essential for this role.
  • A solid understanding of current employment law and HR best practice.
  • Flexible with travelling between our four sites (Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina and Chile) is required.

Location Requirement

You must live within commutable distance of our Barreiros, São José - SC, , Brazil office as weekly onsite presence is required.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in partnering with leadership to strategically coordinate the full employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and onboarding to fostering continuous faculty and staff development. This role is crucial in ensuring successful integration into EAC's unique school culture and actively championing school-wide well-being initiatives.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESULTS:

Talent Development & Retention

  • Collaborates with school Leadership to monitor and administer professional development programs, ensuring alignment with local and international best practices in areas such as evidence-based instructional strategies and leadership development frameworks.
  • Maintains an accurate database of professional development experiences to inform future planning and ensure equitable allocation of resources.
  • Develops and implements career progression frameworks and provides individualized guidance in career development.
  • Proactively identifies and organizes relevant professional development opportunities (e.g., workshops, speakers, EdCamps).

Attracting & Retaining Talent

  • Manages the advertisement of positions and ensures the revision of job descriptions, interview questions, and tracking the overall hiring process, in collaboration with hiring managers.
  • Actively sources and solicits qualified applicants, reviews resumes, conducts initial and subsequent interviews, checks background on applicants, and makes recommendations to hiring managers, as requested.
  • Assists the Director of Finance and Administration in conducting compensation benchmarking and analysis, and utilizes systems to collect and analyze data on staff development, evaluation, retention, and attrition.
  • Organizes an overall calendar and individual events which recognize and celebrate the commitment of faculty & staff to EAC, fostering a positive and appreciative work environment.
  • Conducts interviews with faculty & staff as part of talent assessment and retention efforts.
  • Supporting performance reviews, tracking goal progress.
  • Actively sources and solicits qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds, reviews resumes with an equity lens, conducts initial and subsequent interviews, and makes recommendations to hiring managers, as requested, promoting a diverse candidate pool.

Supporting a Positive & Ethical Culture

  • Administers employment contracts and oversees the comprehensive onboarding process for all new staff, including a schedule of activities, and facilitates training in child protection and data protection.
  • Provides comprehensive support and resources to foreign hire staff as they settle into life in Campinas and at EAC.
  • Plans and implements outings for staff to support inclusion and celebration of the local culture of Campinas.
  • Collaborates with school Leadership to monitor and administer professional development programs, ensuring alignment with local and international best practices in areas such as evidence-based instructional strategies, leadership development frameworks, and DEIJ best practices.

Compliance and Child Protection

  • Collaborates with outsourced providers to ensure effective monitoring of EAC's complaint channel, facilitating appropriate incident reporting, including CIPA compliance.
  • Develops and delivers appropriate compliance training to staff and ensures the fully compliance with HR related laws
  • Establishes and oversees a robust school-wide system for mandatory child protection training for all EAC staff and third-party providers (liaising with counseling staff and Leadership).
  • Stays abreast of compliance-related laws and best practices in human resources, both nationally and internationally.
  • Proactively proposes and implements policy and procedure enhancements that support ethical behavior at EAC.
  • Develops and implements safer hiring protocols, including enhanced interview processes and comprehensive background, social media, and reference checks.
