Networking operations specialist
Overview
As a member of the Wabtec Global Infrastructure team, the successful candidate is highly collaborative with broad technical Networking skills and the ability to support the implementation and support of WAN, LAN and WLAN solutions and changes across a large organization.
Essential Responsibilities
- Contributor role working with cross functional teams in design and deployment of Network WLAN, LAN and WAN Standards
- Participate and lead Network projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and be a recognized expert in Networking Infrastructure
- Collaborate across multiple internal teams to ensure successful and timely delivery of the scope of work
- Work with partner teams and vendors to manage day-to-day operations and reliability of the regional network
- Contribute in site network design requirements and prepare cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirements
- Define and maintain repeatable reference documentation for network architectures, Develop and maintain operational documentation and procedures.
- Troubleshoots user network problems (L3 support) providing regular updates to users
- Monitor network performance and serve as escalation point for incidents impacting Network and Servers operations
- Responsible for voice and internet circuits QOS
- Supports development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
- Document current and future network design
- Remains actively involved in projects beyond the architectural definition, helping during the Engineering and Implementation phases
- Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
- Collaborate with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediation
- Provide guidance to Service Desk team members on technical problems
- Control the Infrastructure network and server projects for the region, ensure project timeline, schedule and escape accomplishment aligned to the global and local business needs
- Lead to deliver projects that span across one or more business units, including management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
- Report status to internal customers and identify and resolve risks that impact project completion; manage time and budget of the projects; initiate action to identify and resolve problems and ensure goals are met;
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings as required to ensure that all aspects of the project are dealt with professionally and efficiently
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduation on STEM courses required
- Advanced English required
- Minimum of 3 years of information technology experience w/ focus on Networking technologies configuration: Cisco, Aruba, Nexus, HP, CheckPoint, ASA, Fortinet, SDWAN Principals, QOS Principals
- Experience on WAN/WLAN/LAN designs across an Enterprise Environment
- Experience on design, implementation and support of data center networking technologies is essential, including vendors such as Cisco, HPE Aruba or Arista.
- Experience on TCP/IP Protocols and DNS: BGP, eIGRP, OSPF
- Experience on defining and troubleshooting routing and DNS issues and identifying required steps for remediation
- ITIL V3/V4 knowledge and/or certification is a plus
- Cisco or HP Network certification is a plus
- Past experiences on industrial companies is a plus

Job DescriptionDesign and implement advanced network solutions in large campuses.
Lead the migration process on site, often varying from one location to another, and perform post-migration hypercare tasks, documenting and delivering to the operations team.
Key Requirements:- A comprehensive understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and LAN technology.
- Experience with Cisco LAN + WLAN is mandatory; Juniper vendors are welcome.
- Palo Alto firewalls are preferred, while Fortinet and Cisco are useful.
- Knowledge of campus network experience is required; complex environments such as industries, medicine, or secure networks like defense or banking.
- LAN and WI-FI segmentation in large-scale environments with 2 or 3 levels.

- Monitorar, analisar, diagnosticar e antever problemas relacionados à qualidade, disponibilidade e segurança de Networking.
- Solucionar problemas relacionados à conectividade, inclusive participando de rodízio de plantão para horários não comerciais, finais de semana e feriados.
- Estar presente no local de trabalho ao menos 2 vezes por semana, podendo variar de acordo com a necessidade e urgência.
Requisitos:
- Ter conhecimento comprovado como Analista de Infraestrutura/Networking.
- Possuir disponibilidade para atuar no modelo híbrido em Guarulhos - SP.

Responsabilidades:- Desenvolver negócios da marca Grandstream junto a canais, integradores e revendas;
- Identificar oportunidades comerciais e promover soluções de voz, vídeo, redes e comunicação unificada;
- Apoiar o time de vendas com informações técnicas e comerciais, estruturando propostas e estratégias;
- Realizar treinamentos, apresentações e ações de geração de demanda com parceiros;
- Manter relacionamento com o fabricante e acompanhar tendências de mercado.
- Experiência prévia como BDM no setor de telecomunicações ;
- Conhecimento técnico comercial em soluções Grandstream ou similares (IP Phones, gateways, IP PBX, câmeras);
- Vivência com canais de distribuição, integradores e revendas ;
- Habilidade em negociação e estruturação de ofertas;
- Inglês intermediário (desejável);
- Certificações na área de redes (VoIP, SIP, Wi-Fi) serão consideradas um diferencial.
- Comunicativo(a), proativo(a) e orientado(a) a resultados;

We are hiring a System Software Engineer for Ubuntu Networking
Our growing investment in Ubuntu now enables us to hire a group of outstanding systems software engineers to focus on the connectivity of Ubuntu in a wide range of circumstances, from cloud to server to desktop and IoT. We would like to strengthen the tooling, services, documentation, robustness, security and clarity of Linux network abstractions to provide fast, reliable and secure connections for Ubuntu.
The network stack is one of the most critical aspects of any operating system where stability, reliability and uptime are paramount. Its ease of use and reliability contribute to Ubuntu's success from IoT, Desktop, Server to the Cloud. We are expanding our Foundations team to focus our efforts on this essential function and are looking for people passionate about lower level technologies involved in an operating system's network stack. Applicants will be comfortable discussing bridges, bonds, routing, DNS resolution and other technologies used to interconnect modern operating systems. We'll work with a very wide range of upstream components and communities covering a wide range of connectivity tech. We might touch the kernel, iwd, networkmanager, wpa_supplicant, bluetooth stacks, conman, mobile data stacks, ethernet, infiniband, network virtualisation capabilities, VPNs and offload to smartnics. We model Ubuntu connectivity with Netplan and will continue to drive this forward as the easiest and most effective central tool to enable connectivity everywhere.
The Ubuntu Foundations Team delivers and maintains the core of the Ubuntu system, the base for the entire Ubuntu family of products and services. Ubuntu strives to deliver the latest and best free software components, in an easy to use and highly reliable form. We build on the technical excellence of Debian and bring additional focus and shape to the solutions we offer industry.
As a Linux System Engineer, you will maintain and integrate core components involved in the network stack of the Ubuntu Distribution. You will be discussing design with other team members, upstream projects, mentor less senior engineers and participate in code reviews and design reviews. You will also be working with other teams to ensure architecture decisions improve the overall performance and experience of Ubuntu.
Location: This role will be based remotely in the AMERICAS region
The role entails
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
- Shape software-define networking products for evolving data center architectures to meet ever-increasing bandwidth, reliability, security, and interoperability demands
- Write high-quality, well-designed and well-documented software
- Debug issues and produce high-quality code to fix them
- Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed organization
- Contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind
- Display technical leadership internally, towards our partners, and in the open source communities
- Influence open-source projects and communities
- Shape innovative product strategies
- Work from home with global travel 2 to 4 weeks a year for internal and external events
- Deep understanding and passion for Linux networking, from kernel to user space
- Professional experience with computer networks, including virtual networks, distributed systems as well as understanding of hardware offloading technologies.
- Interest in systemd-networkd, NetworkManager, ModemManager, iwd, conman, bluez, iproute2, Open vSwitch, WireGuard and similar software components
- Fluency in at least one of Golang, C/C++, Rust or Python
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
- Interest in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
- You love technology and working with brilliant people
- You are passionate, curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable
- You value soft skills and are passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
