Networking operations specialist
Overview
As a member of the Wabtec Global Infrastructure team, the successful candidate is highly collaborative with broad technical Networking skills and the ability to support the implementation and support of WAN, LAN and WLAN solutions and changes across a large organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Contributor role working with cross functional teams in design and deployment of Network WLAN, LAN and WAN Standards
  • Participate and lead Network projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and be a recognized expert in Networking Infrastructure
  • Collaborate across multiple internal teams to ensure successful and timely delivery of the scope of work
  • Work with partner teams and vendors to manage day-to-day operations and reliability of the regional network
  • Contribute in site network design requirements and prepare cost estimates by evaluating business strategies and requirements
  • Define and maintain repeatable reference documentation for network architectures, Develop and maintain operational documentation and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots user network problems (L3 support) providing regular updates to users
  • Monitor network performance and serve as escalation point for incidents impacting Network and Servers operations
  • Responsible for voice and internet circuits QOS
  • Supports development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
  • Document current and future network design
  • Remains actively involved in projects beyond the architectural definition, helping during the Engineering and Implementation phases
  • Support the development, testing and integration of new hardware and software platforms into the network
  • Collaborate with third-party service and support vendors to ensure maximum uptime and prompt problem remediation
  • Provide guidance to Service Desk team members on technical problems
  • Control the Infrastructure network and server projects for the region, ensure project timeline, schedule and escape accomplishment aligned to the global and local business needs
  • Lead to deliver projects that span across one or more business units, including management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
  • Report status to internal customers and identify and resolve risks that impact project completion; manage time and budget of the projects; initiate action to identify and resolve problems and ensure goals are met;
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings as required to ensure that all aspects of the project are dealt with professionally and efficiently

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Graduation on STEM courses required
  • Advanced English required
  • Minimum of 3 years of information technology experience w/ focus on Networking technologies configuration: Cisco, Aruba, Nexus, HP, CheckPoint, ASA, Fortinet, SDWAN Principals, QOS Principals
  • Experience on WAN/WLAN/LAN designs across an Enterprise Environment
  • Experience on design, implementation and support of data center networking technologies is essential, including vendors such as Cisco, HPE Aruba or Arista.
  • Experience on TCP/IP Protocols and DNS: BGP, eIGRP, OSPF
  • Experience on defining and troubleshooting routing and DNS issues and identifying required steps for remediation
  • ITIL V3/V4 knowledge and/or certification is a plus
  • Cisco or HP Network certification is a plus
  • Past experiences on industrial companies is a plus

The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) team plans, builds and operates the subsea backbone network used by Google to provide our products and services. The Cable Build team is a specialized group within GSN responsible for cable system construction. This team blends skills from marine construction, fiber-optic networking, project management and contract negotiation to deliver this core infrastructure.

In this role, you will own fiber-optic submarine cable construction projects. You will lead work between submarine cable vendors, partners, and internal teams through close collaboration with other Technical Program Managers, Strategic Negotiators, Network Deployment Engineers, Product Managers and Network Architects.   • Realizar o suporte técnico aos clientes;
  • Interagir com NOC de outras operadoras e de fornecedores;
  • Assegurar a performance do backbone e seus componentes, como: dispositivos de rede, links e protocolos de roteamento;
  • Atuar em resposta a incidentes de rede e ataques DDoS.


Requisitos:


  • Experiência em redes de computadores;
  • Excelente capacidade de comunicação e atendimento (escrita, verbal e apresentação) em português;
  • Experiência com suporte técnico à clientes.
  • Experiência em BGP (Border Gateway Protocol).


Desejável:


  • Excelente capacidade de comunicação e atendimento (escrita, verbal e apresentação) na língua inglesa;
  • Vivência com OKR, KPI - perfil orientado a dados e resultados;
  • Familiaridade com sistemas operacional Linux;
  • Certificações: CCNA | JNCIA Junos (ou equivalente).

Lubrizol is looking for a Network Engineer to join our IT team and support the planning, design, implementation and sustainability of a secure network infrastructure with a focus on the Core Network components as well as WAN Network components at Lubrizol's 80+ facilities around the world. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the broader transition of Lubrizol's existing traditional networking landscape to the next generation of the network which includes Software Defined Network, Cloud Network Infrastructure and Automation of Network Services.
  • Analyze emerging network solutions and propose updated technology solutions based on business requirements and industry technology trends.
  • Design/configure existing network solutions that meet or exceed business requirements following documented standards.
  • Provide leadership/collaboration to the Network Operations and Delivery teams to enable their success in delivering global network solutions.
  • Document new network solutions in a manner that helps the Network Operations and Delivery teams not only deploy the solution but also support the ongoing solution.

  • Collaborate with other IT professionals outside the immediate team to plan and execute network-related projects.

  • Establish and maintain connections with key networking vendors to understand current and upcoming technologies in their respective spaces.

  • Troubleshoot 3rd level network issues.

Requirements:

  • IT related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (eight years' experience in Network / IT Infrastructure roles acceptable)
  • At least five years of experience supporting a global network environment
  • Demonstrated capability with TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP
  • Experience troubleshooting, implementing and configuring the following:
    • Mixed Internet/MPLS WAN environment
  • Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
  • Switching, wireless and firewall technologies (eg. Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, etc…)
  • Routing/SD-WAN experience (eg. VeloCloud, Meraki, etc…)
  • Working knowledge of the following:
    • Network security technologies such as VPN, TACACS+, RADIUS, NAC
  • Network protocol analysis and troubleshooting using various tools (e.g. Wireshark) and equipment for root cause determination
  • Experience with technical crisis & major incident management
  • Experience with change advisory board (CAB) procedures
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • CCNP certification or equivalent/higher
  • Experience with Azure networking items such as Vnet & NSG
  • Experience deploying and supporting Arista environment
  • Experience deploying and supporting Palo Alto Firewall environment

  • Demonstrated capability relative to the network scripting and programming/automation space including:

  • Python / Ansible / GIT
  • Linux
  • Experience building relationships and working in a collaborative, matrix-driven, global environment

Summary

As a Network Engineer at , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports our Bare Metal Cloud Services.

You will work closely with our product engineering, infrastructure operations and network engineering teams, to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure.

Your role will involve designing and implementing new network solutions, troubleshooting network issues, and providing guidance to the team on best practices.

Key Responsabilities

  • Design and implement network infrastructure solutions that support our Bare Metal Cloud Services
  • Monitor network performance and capacity and identify areas for improvement
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP and OSPF routing protocols
  • Work closely with the development, operations, and network operations to ensure that the network infrastructure meets their requirements
  • Participate in the planning and execution of network-related projects
  • Document operational processes, technical procedures, and network designs and configurations
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest networking technologies and trends and make recommendations for improvements to our network infrastructure

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network infrastructures
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus and Juniper routing
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools in complex network topologies like Zabbix and Grafana
  • Self-learning capability and quick absorption of new technologies
  • Experience with VXLAN and Linux automation with command-line proficiency will be a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work with autonomy and proactivity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in both operational and project environments, with the adaptability to balance operational demands and project work
  • Advanced English communication skills (B2 level or above)
