What Have You Done:
- Excellent knowledge of both RDBMS's and MongoDB, including:
- All aspects of configuration and best practices.
- Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, & index tuning.
- Backup solutions.
- Replica set and sharding topologies.
- Engine selection and usage.
- Detailed understanding of monitoring requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of administering Linux based systems.
- Knowledge about virtualized environments such as VMWare, Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Knowledge about cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean and/or Azure)
- Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying fixes for known errors, and when necessary, capacity to think outside of the box to resolve complex issues.
- Enthused to expand your skill set with new technologies as the industry continues to evolve
- Availability to travel for the occasional team meeting, conference and customer visit
- Experience working with customers in English
- Completed MongoDB University courses
- Percona Backup for MongoDB
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas
- Postgres DBA troubleshooting (basic level or higher)
- Nagios, Percona Monitoring Plugins and other monitoring tools.
- Configuration management solutions such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
- Percona Toolkit suite.
- Writing Python and golang is preferred
- Hands on experience of MySQL (Minimum 2+ years).

Key Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines to collect, process, and store data from various sources, including spectrometry data from our NIR scans, user feedback, and external data inputs.
Data Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources, including MongoDB, BigQuery, APIs, and Excel files, ensuring unified access for the data science team.
Database Management: Set up and manage scalable data storage solutions using cloud-based data warehouses (BigQuery), as well as NoSQL databases (MongoDB) for real-time and unstructured data processing.
Containerization and Deployment: Use Docker to containerize data pipelines and services for smooth deployment across environments. Manage containers and orchestration for scalable and repeatable workflows.
Data Quality Assurance: Implement processes to clean, validate, and monitor data quality, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all datasets used by the data science and product teams.
Collaboration with Data Scientists: Work alongside data scientists to understand their data needs, enabling effective model development, testing, and deployment by providing clean, well-organized datasets.
Optimization and Scalability: Design data solutions that can scale with the business, ensuring fast, reliable data access for real-time analytics and model training.

Job Duties
We are looking for a Senior Developer who will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our web application solutions. The candidate must have a strong background in Java (using Springboot) and MongoDB. Ideally they will have at least a basic understanding and experience developing a backend for a Typescript/JavaScript front-end. A working knowledge of websockets, APIs, MQTT and Protocol Buffers would also be desirable.

- Deep understanding of manipulation of JSON data.

Responsibilities
- Provide database design, development, and support to SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle database applications
- Design database objects such as tables and stored procedures based on business requirements
- Create / maintain complex stored procedures, user-defined functions, triggers, and objects
- Implement data archival strategy for transaction processing systems
- Review and approve of database changes involving tables, stored procedures, SQL agent jobs, etc.
- Conduct performance evaluation and tuning of long running queries
- Knowledge of best practices and development standards
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT
- Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle
- Experience reviewing / auditing large number of database objects (procedures, tables, functions and views) and dependencies
- Strong database performance tuning knowledge
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to change priorities quickly and capacity to handle multiple tasks
- This position is eligible for the Employee Referral Bonus Program-Tier 4
