SummaryAs a Principal SQL Engineer, you’ll lead the charge in modernizing our technology stack, fostering a data-driven culture, and advancing our adoption of AI-driven solutions. Your role will involve developing and optimizing backend systems using MySQL and Python, as well as integrating AI and automation to streamline data workflows and generate deeper insights. You’ll collaborate closely with our web development teams to ensure seamless integration, and implement data engineering and AI tooling to drive smarter, faster decision-making. This is a fully remote based role, however candidates must be located in Argentina or Brazil. Note: this is a long-term Independent Contractor position.
What You'll Do- Maintain and optimize existing ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability
- Develop new reports using SQL queries and Python scripts to extract and present meaningful insights from various data sources
- Design and implement new products, including interactive Dashboards and Reports using AWS QuickSight to facilitate data visualization and analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions around complex business needs
- Write clear and concise documentation for code and processes
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of enterprise-level experience coding in Python and building Python-based web applications
- 5+ years of professional experience working with MySQL or other SQL database
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working with web development, with an expertise in Python backend development
- 3+ years of experience with building and consuming APIs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with AWS services like QuickSight, S3, Aurora, StepFunctions, Lambdas, and Batch
- Experience with Docker to containerize applications for seamless deployment
- Experience working at a scaling startup
