Job Summary: We are seeking a process oriented and people driven Employee Relations and Compliance Specialist to join our HR team. This role plays a key part in maintaining a positive, ethical, and legally compliant work environment by managing employee relations matters and supporting compliance initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
- Conduct workplace investigations regarding misconduct, grievances, or policy violations in a fair and timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, labor laws, and ethical standards, especially regarding disciplinary actions, performance management, and terminations.
- Partner with Legal, HR Ops, HRBPs and business leaders to identify and address trends in employee relations matters and recommend proactive solutions.
- Monitor compliance with labor and employment regulations, both local and international, where applicable.
- Support the rollout and continuous improvement of compliance programs (e.g., Code of Conduct, anti-harassment, whistleblower channels, trainings).
- Draft and maintain clear documentation related to cases, compliance initiatives, and audits.
- Develop training sessions and communication materials on compliance and employee conduct topics.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and HR to ensure consistent interpretation and application of policies.
- Track and report metrics related to employee relations and compliance, offering insights for leadership decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field. Legal background is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in employee relations, HR compliance, or related areas.
- Solid understanding of labor and employment law, especially in (insert country, e.g., Brazil, U.S., etc.).
- Experience in conducting workplace investigations and managing sensitive employee matters.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and propose structured solutions.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus (especially Spanish or Portuguese, depending on the region).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multinational tech companies or cross-border environments.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, FCPA, LGPD/GDPR).
- Certification in HR or Compliance (e.g., SHRM, CEBS, LPEC) is a plus.
