Descrição Do Trabalho

TRM Labs is a blockchain intelligence company committed to fighting crime and creating a safer world. By leveraging blockchain data, threat intelligence, and advanced analytics, our products empower governments, financial institutions, and crypto businesses to combat illicit activity and global security threats. At TRM, you'll join a mission-driven, fast-paced team made up of experts in law enforcement, data science, engineering, and financial intelligence, tackling complex global challenges daily. Whether analyzing blockchain data, developing cutting-edge tools, or collaborating with global organizations, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Senior Business Process Automation Engineer to join our cutting edge AI & Automation team. In this role, you'll be the architect of our internal operational efficiency. Your primary mission is to identify, design, and deploy intelligent automation solutions that eliminate manual work, accelerate our data analysis, and empower our teams to focus on high-value challenges in the blockchain intelligence landscape.

This is a high-impact position with a clear and ambitious goal: within your first six months, you will be expected to deliver a portfolio of automations that saves a cumulative 80 hours of manual work per week across the company.

You'll leverage a modern toolkit including low-code platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier), custom code (JavaScript/Python), and AI models to tackle complex challenges. Your will work directly with every team within the business, making our entire organization faster, smarter, and more secure.

The impact you will have:

  • Lead the discovery and analysis of business processes across all departments, identifying high-impact opportunities for automation and process re-engineering.
  • Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable automation workflows using platforms like n8n and Make, seamlessly extending their capabilities with custom JavaScript or Python when necessary.
  • Develop complex integrations between our core systems and third-party applications, including Jira, Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Notion, Google Workspace, and our core data warehouse in BigQuery.
  • Pioneer the use of AI within our automations, building agentic workflows, leveraging LLMs for tasks like content summarization and data reconciliation, and implementing robust evaluation frameworks to measure model effectiveness.
  • Serve as the platform owner for our core AI and automation tech stack. This includes working alongside our Infrastructure teams managing the environments to ensure reliability and performance, as well as enhancing the user experience (UX) to empower other teams to build their own automations effectively.
  • Champion and enforce stringent security standards in all automations, ensuring the secure handling of sensitive data and implementing best practices for encryption, access control, and secure API usage in partnership with our security team.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of automation projects from initial ideation and requirements gathering with stakeholders to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in process automation, software development, or a similar role, with a strong portfolio of successfully deployed projects that delivered measurable business value.
  • Expert-level proficiency with at least one enterprise-grade low-code/no-code automation platform (e.g., n8n, Make). You should know its limitations and have a strong understanding of best practices to implement when working with the tools.
  • Strong scripting and development skills in JavaScript (Node.js) and/or Python, used to write custom logic, transform data, and interact with APIs.
  • Proficiency in software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices. You should be comfortable using version control (Git) for your projects and understand the principles of automated testing and CI/CD to build robust and maintainable automations.
  • Deep expertise in business process mapping, requirements gathering, and designing scalable, fault-tolerant workflow architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex, multi-system API integrations and solving the challenges that come with them.
  • A security-first mindset with proven experience building systems that handle sensitive or confidential data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A proactive and autonomous work ethic. You can take a high-level goal, break it down into actionable steps, and drive it to completion.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building agentic workflows or integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) for tasks like NLP, data extraction, or content generation.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS).
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and writing complex SQL queries (especially for BigQuery).
  • A genuine interest in the blockchain, cryptocurrency, or FinTech space.

  • Master Craftsperson – We prioritize speed, high standards, and distributed ownership.
  • Inspiring Colleague – We value humility, candor, and a one-team mindset.

  • Take on high-impact challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Thrive in a culture of coaching, where feedback is fast, direct, and built to help you level up.

What to Expect at TRM

That said, TRM may not be the right fit for everyone . If you're optimizing for work life balance, we encourage you to:

Our work has direct, real-world impact:

  • Jumping online after hours to support urgent government requests tracing ransomware payments.
  • Delivering actionable insights during terrorist financing investigations.
  • Collaborating across time zones in real time during a major global hack.
  • Building new processes in days, not weeks, to stop criminals before they cash out.
  • Analyzing blockchain data to recover stolen savings and dismantle trafficking networks.

Thrive as a Global Team

As a remote-first company, TRM Labs is built for global collaboration.

  • We cultivate a strong remote culture through clear communication, thorough documentation, and meaningful relationships.

Life at TRM Labs

Leadership Principles

Our Leadership Principles shape everything we do—how we make decisions, collaborate, and operate day to day.

  • Impact-Oriented Trailblazer – We put customers first, driving for speed, focus, and adaptability.
  • Master Craftsperson – We prioritize speed, high standards, and distributed ownership.
  • Inspiring Colleague – We value humility, candor, and a one-team mindset.

Accelerate your Career

At TRM, you'll do work that matters—disrupting terrorist networks, recovering stolen funds, and protecting people around the world. You will:

  • Work alongside top experts and learn every day.
  • Embrace a growth mindset with development opportunities tailored to your role.
  • Take on high-impact challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Thrive in a culture of coaching, where feedback is fast, direct, and built to help you level up.

What to Expect at TRM

TRM moves fast—really fast. We know a lot of startups say that, but we mean it. We operate with urgency, ownership, and high standards. As a result, you'll be joining a team that's highly engaged, mission-driven, and constantly evolving.

To support this intensity, we're also intentional about rest and recharge. We offer generous benefits, including PTO, Holidays, and Parental Leave for full time employees.

That said, TRM may not be the right fit for everyone. If you're optimizing for work life balance, we encourage you to:

  • Ask your interviewers how they personally approach balance within their teams, and
  • Reflect on whether this is the right season in your life to join a high-velocity environment.
  • Be honest with yourself about what energizes you—and what drains you

We’re upfront about this because we want every new team member to thrive—not just survive.

The Stakes Are Real

  • We invest in offsites, regional meetups, virtual coffee chats, and onboarding buddies to foster collaboration.
  • By prioritizing trust and belonging, we harness the strengths of a global team while staying aligned with our mission and values.
Join our mission!

Descrição Do Trabalho

Senior Software Engineer, AI Process Automation

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Senior Software Engineer, AI Process Automation to join our cutting edge AI & Automation team.

The impact you will have:

  • Lead the discovery and analysis of business processes across all departments, identifying high-impact opportunities for automation and process re-engineering.
