Team OverviewWe're looking for a dedicatedEmployee Relations (ER) Manager to lead our ER function in Brazil. This role is crucial for cultivating a fair, legally compliant, and positive work environment. The ER Manager will act as a strategic partner to our leadership and a key resource for our HR team, ensuring we effectively manage labor-related risks and uphold the integrity of our company's culture and practices.
Role Responsibilities Key ResponsibilitiesLabor Relations and Advisory: Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert on all employee relations matters for management, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), and other stakeholders. You'll provide guidance and strategic advice on complex issues, ensuring a consistent and legally sound approach;
Investigations and Compliance: Lead and manage the end-to-end investigation workflow for all employee-related incidents not related to the code of ethics and other specific compliance investigations. This includes documenting incidents, conducting a tri-party review with Legal and Compliance, performing root cause analysis, and tracking corrective and preventive actions to ensure fair and consistent outcomes;
Risk Management: Conduct annual risk mapping to proactively identify and manage labor-related risks. You'll analyze collective bargaining trends, regulatory changes, and employee sentiment to propose and manage mitigation plans. You'll also conduct biannual internal audits of disciplinary action documentation;
Union and Collective Bargaining: Act as the company's primary representative and point of contact for all union-related matters. You will manage collective bargaining agreements and represent the company in negotiations;
- Policy and Process Management: You'll ensure mandatory labor law compliance and translate it into implementation of policies and guidelines;
Training and Development: Develop and deliver training for managers on best practices in employee relations, helping to ensure consistency in our approach across all levels of the organization;
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key link between HRBPs, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Compliance to align ER strategies with broader business goals.
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Law, Business Administration);
Experience on employee relations matters in Brazil (either as part of HRBP or HROps roles), with a strong understanding of Brazilian labor law (CLT) for at least 5 years;
Experience in conducting workplace investigations;
Demonstrated expertise in union negotiations and managing collective bargaining agreements;
Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform risk assessments and legal compliance analyzis (e.g. audit findings) to drive improvements;
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills;
The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment;
Fluency in English is a strong plus.

The Senior Lifecycle Specialist, Employee Relations & Transitions independently manages all employee exits for Remote's external employees with a focus on legal compliance, excellent quality and providing delightful customer service. Additionally, the specialist provides first-level Employee Relations support, guiding clients through workplace concerns and coordinating appropriate resources.
As part of a larger employee Lifecycle team, the Senior Specialist is also expected to drive process improvements and initiatives in line with Remote's strategic goals and values.
What you bring
- Extensive experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, with generalist HR competencies and exposure across the employee lifecycle.
- Tertiary qualifications in HR/labour relations/employment law considered a plus.
- Proven experience with a strong background in independently managing voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity and legal compliance; and providing comprehensive HR advice and guidance on employment laws and regulations, spanning various jurisdictions.
- Understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline approaches, and workplace investigation fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues and apply problem-solving skills to independently (occasionally with minimal supervision) arrive at solutions, undertake research and translate this into usable team resources, provide practical solutions and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders when operating in ambiguous and unfamiliar environments.
