About The Role
We are looking for dynamic and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support ongoing design development of several luxury projects worldwide focusing on boutique hospitality assets. This role requires a creative and technical professional who can deliver efficient and innovative engineering solutions while maintaining the aesthetic and functional standards expected in luxury developments. In this role, you will be responsible for design development of luxury villas and boutique hotels engineering systems. You should be able to work independently throughout the day, coordinate with the team when needed, and deliver intermediate results weekly. You will report to a MEP design manager, but collaborate with the entire design team, including but not limited to architects, interior designers, structural engineers, the FFE procurement team, and client representatives. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication and presentation skills, be punctual, detail-oriented, self-organized, and motivated to deliver quality results.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil or Building Engineering with a concentration in electrical systems, power supply and generation
- Between 5 to 10 years of engineering design experience working for a design consultancy or a general contractor
- Experience in high-end hospitality projects, like 5-star hotels and private villas
Responsibilities
- Design engineering systems for luxury villas and boutique hotels, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards
- Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and other engineers to integrate systems seamlessly into the overall project
- Proactively participate in spatial coordination with architectural and structural model, research efficient methodologies, equipment, systems to secure the initial design intent and high-end user experience
- Timely resolve technical issues and challenges during the design phase
- Lead the development of detailed drawings, technical documentation, and system specifications using CAD and BIM tools, with the support of BIM modellers
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing to optimize performance and energy efficiency
- Oversee equipment selection, ensuring it aligns with project requirements and sustainability goals
- Provide input during value engineering discussions to achieve the best balance between cost, quality, and performance
- Supervise the design development, review and approve deliverables of third party designers, consultants, surveyors
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, trends, and regulations related to power supply and distribution systems in the luxury and hospitality sectors
CV Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil or Building Engineering with a concentration in electrical systems, power supply and generation
- 8 to 15 years of experience in design consultancy or general contractor
- Experience working on low-rise residential and hospitality projects - private homes and villas, hotels and resorts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Professional level of English, both written and verbal
- Good to have: Spanish
- Caribbean experience

THE ROLE
As our Senior Innovation Engineer - Electrical Design at Skytree, you will develop electrical systems for the Skytree CO2 capture machines, with a focus on power electronics and new product development. You will collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, conduct analysis, and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations to deliver innovative CO2 capture machines.
Your experience will help create reliable and efficient electrical systems that meet the requirements of our customers and contribute to the overall success of Skytree’s CO2 capture machines.
YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY
Developing and designing electrical & control (sub)systems for our one-of-a-kind DAC equipment
Being involved in product innovation and new product development from an electrical engineering perspective
Creating detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation
Conducting thorough analysis and calculations to ensure optimal electrical design and efficiency
Selecting and evaluating electrical components and subsystems to meet product requirements
Working on debugging and launching new prototypes of Skytree CO2 capture machines
Performing electrical simulations and modeling for system validation and optimization
Preparing necessary documentation, reports, and test plans for certification purposes
Executing root cause analysis on prototype models, helping out with improvements on the design
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You have a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
At least 6+ years proven experience in electrical design engineering, including new product development
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations
Experience with power electronics and high power electrical design(LV range)
Very good calculation and analysis skills
Expert knowledge of EPLAN for 2D as well as 3D (Pro Panel) design, incl. macro’s, labeling/numbering, cable mgt. et ecetera
Proactive, self-motivated, and hands on approach to work
Professional proficiency in English
Living in Poland and willing and able to work in-office in the Katowice region
The ability to occasionally travel to The netehrlands and possibly other locations within the EU

- Support construction contract administration by reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site observations.
- Mentor and review work of other engineers and technical staff.
- Contribute to internal technical training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

- BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited program; MS preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience (may be reduced with MS or SE license).
- Progress toward a Professional Engineer (PE) license (structural designation).
- Proficiency in Bentley RAM, Tekla Structural Designer, and Autodesk Revit preferred.
- Strong understanding of building codes and structural materials (concrete, post-tensioned concrete, steel, masonry, and wood).

Primary Responsibilities
In the role of the Senior Electrical Engineer - Battery Energy Storage Systems we'll count on you to:
- Support grid scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects developing conceptual layouts and one-line diagrams and supporting the detailed design through the completion of Issue For Construction design packages.
- Evaluate and analyze energy storage technologies, products, and vendors and support clients with technology and vendor selection and implementation.
- Support microgrid and distributed energy resources projects by developing detailed electrical engineering designs.
- Develop and review engineering design plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents at various design milestones for BESS projects.
- Support developers, utilities, and other clients with identifying, defining, and implementing use-cases for battery energy storage systems in both centralized and distributed locations.
- Develop written technical reports that effectively convey battery energy storage concepts, use-cases, and feasibility study results to various types of audiences.
- Coordinate closely with civil, structural, fire & life safety (FLS), high-voltage electrical, SCADA/telecommunications, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue For Construction design packages for BESS projects.
- Participate in design reviews with various stakeholders including governing and permitting agencies.
- Support development of and updates to internal design guidelines, catalogs, and templates for battery energy storage projects.
- Conduct quality assurance/quality control on the work of other electrical engineers, electrical designers, or technicians.
- Provide construction phase technical support including bid addenda, submittal reviews, Requests for Information (RFI), Construction Progress Reports (CPR) and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents, as needed.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution.
- Coordinate project workload to deliver documents on schedule.
- Serve as a mentor or counsellor to junior members of the team.
- Provide technical support and assistance to HDR’s team and clients.
- Design experience adhering to National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, IEEE codes and standards, and county, city and state codes, ordinances and standards.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design of BESS, distributed generation, renewables, electrical distribution, or power system controls.
- Understanding of BESS technologies as well as integration of these systems into traditional power generation and renewables generation facilities.
- Technical knowledge to analyze and interpret technical data and documents related to battery energy storage systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a broad range of audiences.
- Ability to effectively support multiple complex and time sensitive projects.
- Ability to multi-task by prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to interact with clients as well as design and construction teams in a positive and proactive manner.
- Ability to adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.
- Ability to interface with diverse personalities.

- Demonstrable technical writing/editing ability, commitment to quality in work products.
- Ability to travel to support projects, meet with clients, or attend industry events. Travel required up to 10% domestic and international.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
