DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading activities with media and content creators in Brazil to help manage the company’s corporate reputation in the country and help communicate Apple’s contribution locally, focused on key areas such as accessibility, education, customer privacy, and environmental leadership. The role requires an ability to think strategically and to execute activations with a high attention to detail. It also requires a proven ability to anticipate, manage and mitigate PR issues, working closely with local and global teams.The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a variety of other teams and functions to create and deliver the initiatives that increase awareness and understanding of Apple and how the company is a force for good. This may include the Product PR team, Product Marketing and Marcom teams as well as Government Affairs, Retail and Legal teams across the organization.You will help devise and execute global communications initiatives that resonate with the local audience as well as create and bring to life a local corporate communications strategy. Responsibilities will include strategic planning and execution, identifying and managing issues in a fast-paced environment and continuous news cycle. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the wider management team in the region and also be tightly coordinating with worldwide PR teams.You will help us establish, expand and build meaningful connections for Apple to amplify corporate and values storytelling to journalists, creators, and local and regional communities.Possess expert knowledge of competitive and our industry’s regulatory landscape and keep your team at WW PR up to date on what's going on in your market.Manage and respond to day-to-day press inquiries and ensure our regular media and creator contacts are kept up to speed on the latest Apple news.
Minimum Qualifications- 8+ years' experience in public relations, in-house or in an agency setting.
- Experience in media relations and a strong network of media and influencer contacts in tech, policy, environment and sustainability spaces.
- Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
- Strong relationships with media and influencers in technology and policy, with a proven track record of developing and placing impactful stories.
- Experience delivering creative corporate PR strategies that drive meaningful outcomes.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective communications that demonstrate a clear understanding of the diverse needs of different audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, simplify, and manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling story pitches and creative concepts that make complex topics accessible.
- Ability to quickly analyze media coverage and sentiment, anticipate emerging issues, and apply insights to inform team strategy.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Marketing, Legal, Government Relations, ESG, and Customer Service to identify opportunities and risks.
- Oversee media monitoring, reporting, and measurement processes, including vendor supervision.

- 9+ years of experience in public relations, including agency and in-house roles.

- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills in both English and Portuguese.

The Difference You Will Make
We are seeking a Senior Communications Lead, Corporate & Policy Communications LATAM to be responsible for helping to protect and defend the reputation of Airbnb in the region, while providing expert comms consultancy to the comms teams and the regional policy and business teams.
In this role, you must be confident working under pressure with tight deadlines, explaining complex issues in simple ways. Your remit includes developing and maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice across the region, while allowing for messaging adaptations depending on market nuances. You are also responsible for cascading global messaging and strategy updates to the team and supporting prioritization and planning.
A Typical Day
- Be a trusted advisor and crucial stakeholder to the LATAM Policy team; to advise on policy comms ideas and strategies to support policy planning and goals
- Ensure the timely cascade of important global and regional policy updates, giving the team guidance and direction on implementation and weaving global messaging into local stories
- Consult and support on policy comms strategies for local regulatory and litigation updates
- Supports teams on proactive campaigns and helps create content and messaging around key issues such as over tourism and housing, linking to global frameworks and playbooks.
- Reviews external-facing policy-related press materials
- Implement strategies to educate internal and external stakeholders about our global policy narrative
- Collaborate with global campaign strategists and regional Communications leads to localize the narrative for regions and geos
- Help drive and or consult on strategic communications plans for proactive Policy campaigns
- Design impactful reports, studies and other deliverables illustrating our social value proposition for sharing with key policy audiences
- Support use of platform data for policy purposes and manage the Corporate Communications Narrative & Data team
- Contribute to written materials: op-eds, presentations, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, talking points, etc
- Works with the regional team to identify interview opportunities for global executives (VPs and e-staff) and works with country comms leads to develop proposals for exec participation
- Responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of all exec comms briefs, strategies, materials and meetings working in tandem with the country comms leads
- Supports the comms leads with reactive corporate comms issues, ensuring message discipline and escalating when appropriate
- Advises teams on incorporating global narratives and corporate messaging into local programs
- Proactively builds regionally relevant initiatives working with the editorial task force, to include data reports or partnerships with industry bodies, such as IPSOS, Oxford Economics, UNESCO, WWF.
- Drafts briefing documents, op-eds and presentations for globally relevant, regional-level issues or opportunities e.g. sustainability, disaster response etc
- Connects regularly with the editorial task force to suggest story angles, themes and opportunities for corporate relevant stories
- 12+ years communications / public affairs experience, either working in a PR agency or in-house
- Proven-track record leading Corporate and Policy communications initiatives involving trust, crisis, policy and regulatory matters
- Team management skills, ensuring we are always finding the full potential of our talented team
- Expert knowledge of Latin America’s media environment and political landscape including public policy matters - more specifically relating to traveling, housing, technology, and the short term rental industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional leads in a matrix organization
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is a must, Portuguese a plus.

Whether we are briefing press on inspiring travel trends, highlighting unique experiences led by local hosts, or explaining how travel on our platform benefits local families and communities, we are the voice of Airbnb on a broad range of topics. We are seeking a Senior Communications Lead, Corporate & Policy Communications LATAM to be responsible for helping to protect and defend the reputation of Airbnb in the region, while providing expert comms consultancy to the comms teams and the regional policy and business teams.
In this role, you must be confident working under pressure with tight deadlines, explaining complex issues in simple ways. Your remit includes developing and maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice across the region, while allowing for messaging adaptations depending on market nuances. You are also responsible for cascading global messaging and strategy updates to the team and supporting prioritization and planning.
A typical day:
- Be a trusted advisor and crucial stakeholder to the LATAM Policy team; to advise on policy comms ideas and strategies to support policy planning and goals
- Ensure the timely cascade of important global and regional policy updates, giving the team guidance and direction on implementation and weaving global messaging into local stories
- Consult and support on policy comms strategies for local regulatory and litigation updates
- Supports teams on proactive campaigns and helps create content and messaging around key issues such as over tourism and housing, linking to global frameworks and playbooks.
- Reviews external-facing policy-related press materials
- Implement strategies to educate internal and external stakeholders about our global policy narrative
- Collaborate with global campaign strategists and regional Communications leads to localize the narrative for regions and geos
- Help drive and or consult on strategic communications plans for proactive Policy campaigns
- Design impactful reports, studies and other deliverables illustrating our social value proposition for sharing with key policy audiences
- Support use of platform data for policy purposes and manage the Corporate Communications Narrative & Data team
- Contribute to written materials: op-eds, presentations, messaging guidelines, Q&As, briefs, presentations, talking points, etc
- Works with the regional team to identify interview opportunities for global executives (VPs and e-staff) and works with country comms leads to develop proposals for exec participation
- Responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of all exec comms briefs, strategies, materials and meetings working in tandem with the country comms leads
- Supports the comms leads with reactive corporate comms issues, ensuring message discipline and escalating when appropriate
- Advises teams on incorporating global narratives and corporate messaging into local programs
- Proactively builds regionally relevant initiatives working with the editorial task force, to include data reports or partnerships with industry bodies, such as IPSOS, Oxford Economics, UNESCO, WWF.
- Drafts briefing documents, op-eds and presentations for globally relevant, regional-level issues or opportunities e.g. sustainability, disaster response etc
- Connects regularly with the editorial task force to suggest story angles, themes and opportunities for corporate relevant stories
Your expertise:
- 12+ years communications / public affairs experience, either working in a PR agency or in-house
- Proven-track record leading Corporate and Policy communications initiatives involving trust, crisis, policy and regulatory matters
- Team management skills, ensuring we are always finding the full potential of our talented team
- Expert knowledge of Latin America’s media environment and political landscape including public policy matters - more specifically relating to traveling, housing, technology, and the short term rental industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional leads in a matrix organization
- Excellent writing skills
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is a must, Portuguese a plus.
