What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Pipeline Developer to join the Special Projects team to help us improve efficiency and build scalable creative production tool sets around UE. This role will have a particular focus on building out Machine Learning, AI, and Cloud-Based workflows and infrastructure to support emerging creative experiences. This is an exciting moment for technology and for creators, and the role offers the opportunity to participate in the building of vital systems that bind the engine with cloud and AI. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting teams and developing tools and workflows across one or more disciplines, are excited about emerging technology, and designing systems to help that technology be harnessed by creators. They should be able to communicate with various departments and teams to ensure that any pipeline we build is done so in close collaboration with the many other talented teams at Epic Games across the organization. In this role, you will
  • Build best-in-class production workflow tooling and automation
  • Scope out and drive production programming initiatives, working closely with other developers and stakeholders toward scalable, maintainable solutions
  • Deliver practical, forward-thinking solutions that address the needs of the team while working with production to balance development priorities and timelines
  • Promote and demonstrate development progress to relevant stakeholders
  • Exhibit a passion for learning and staying current with emerging machine learning technology and developments
What we're looking for
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science/Programming, or relevant industry experience, with a strong foundation in software design patterns and object-oriented programming
  • 5+ years experience as a Pipeline Developer, Technical Artist, or similar, working on production in games, feature animation, VFX, or related industry
  • Experience integrating and maintaining custom tools in 3rd-party software ( eg, with Python )
  • Familiarity with current & emerging ML technologies and development environments, and demonstrable experience in building and/or experimenting in the space
  • Comfort level in working with platforms such as Azure, GCP/Vertex, AWS/Bedrock, Gradio etc, and awareness of analytics and tracking platforms like Databricks & Grafana
  • High attention to detail, proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, and an ability to multitask effectively
  • Bonus for experience in one or more of the following areas: Unreal Engine, C++, USD & OpenSource/Standards, ShotGrid/Flow Toolkit, Asset Management, Virtual Production

Tech Observer is hiring Statistical Programmers in LATAM (Argentina, Brazil) and UK and Europe.


Job Responsibilities (But not limited to)


Carry out all activities according to Tech Observer SOPs working within the framework of the Quality Management System and to Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Ensure adherence to programming guidelines.


Implement and follow the latest versions of CDISC, FDA Guidelines, GCP and other industry standards;


Participate in and co-ordinate the Statistical Programming review of Case Report Forms (CRFs), annotated CRFs, database structures and study related documentation (e.g. data validation guidelines).


Review and interpret Report and Analysis Plans and provide comments for assigned projects.


Develop and review SAS programs and output for the management of clinical trial data, the tabulation of data, preparation of patient data listings, graphical output, and creation of derived datasets and statistical analysis of data as specified in the Statistical or Report Analysis Plans.


Develop SAS programs for ad hoc tables and listings. Write, modify, and maintain programs that produce diagnostics and listing for data review in support of Data Management

Carry out electronic data transfer (both incoming and outgoing). Develop and review programs to ensure the data transfer has been produced to specification.


Design and set-up utilities/SAS based systems to assist and facilitate Clinical Data Management activities.


Review draft and final production runs for projects to ensure quality and consistency.


Ensure quality of personal work and the work of the team when acting as a Lead Programmer or Biometrics Project Manager.


Assume team member responsibilities, including representing Statistical Programming at internal project team meetings, client meetings and audits.


With sufficient experience may support the activities of senior Statistical Programming staff by providing input into time and cost estimates and presentations to clients.


Advise Senior Statistical Programming staff of changes in scope of projects to enable the timely development of change orders.


Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, a proactive approach and a willingness to take decisions on a regular basis.


Encourage and participate in the ongoing review of the processes used by the Statistical Programming group to ensure processes are continually improved.


Maintain awareness of new developments in programming techniques and IT which may be applied to the management and reporting of clinical trial data.

Responsibilities:
  • Full-stack development of in-house Data Management department applications (including desktop and simple web applications)
  • Perform all development-related activities, including architecting, developing, testing, and maintenance
  • Prepare documentation related to development and maintenance of applications
  • Use the internal development standards
  • Follow the progress of development technologies and advance professional skills as deemed necessary
  • Track development, maintenance, and related tasks in the internal tracking system
  • Prepare software development plans, including scoping, scheduling, testing, and implementation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in software development
  • Experience in processing user requirements for software development
  • Proficiency in SQL Server management, programming, and query performance tuning
  • Ability to develop MS SQL functions, stored procedures, triggers, and other SQL objects
  • Experience in generating data queries using Transact SQL
  • Knowledge of C#, Microsoft .NET frameworks, technologies, and best practices
  • Proficiency in building web-based and desktop applications (C#)
  • Knowledge of unit-testing; knowledge of other testing methods is a plus

  • Full-stack development of in-house Data Management department applications (including desktop and simple web applications)
  • Perform all development-related activities, including architecting, developing, testing and maintenance
  • Prepare of documentation related to development and maintenance of applications
  • Use the internal development standards
  • Follow the progress of development technologies and advances professional skills as deemed necessary
  • Track the development, maintenance and related tasks in the internal tracking system
  • Prepare software development plans, including scoping, scheduling, testing and implementation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • At least 3 years experience in software development
  • Experience in processing user requirements for software development
  • Proficiency in SQL server management, programming, and query performance tuning.
  • Ability to develop MS SQL functions, stored procedures, triggers, and other SQL objects
  • Experience in generating data queries using Transact SQL
  • Knowledge of C#, Microsoft .NET frameworks, technologies, and best practices
  • Proficiency in building web-based and desktop applications (C#)
  • Proficiency in web technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and either ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core or Blazor
  • Knowledge of unit-testing, knowledge of other testing methods is a plus
  • Ability to develop design specifications and functional requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of source control repositories such as GIT and Azure Dev-ops
  • Understanding of the entire software development life cycle
  • Windows Server and IIS Server management skills are a plus
  • Experience in DevExpress components is a plus
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry is a plus

You will be innovating and pushing the limits of what’s possible and delivering the best possible networked experience for our players. You will problem-solve server performance and stability, and guide developers in creating new industry-leading features.

In this role, you will
  • Improve player experience by optimizing systems for latency, bandwidth, CPU usage, and memory.
  • Contribute to managing server releases while improving and automating the process along the way.
  • Research, architect, and develop real-time technology to enable new game experiences.
  • Act as a bridge and subject matter expert between game developers and Unreal Engine networking tech.
  • Collaborate with other programmers on building and deploying new technologies.

What we're looking for
  • Experience shipping networked multiplayer games.
  • Excellent C++ skills, with familiarity of scripting systems like Blueprint, Lua, Python, etc.
