Nextracker's Product Engineering organization is a global team of experts dedicated to helping customers achieve maximum performance from our solar tracker solutions. We build scalable, reliable software and hardware that drive the heart of solar plant operations.

We are actively seeking a highly skilled
Software Developer
to join our Edge Gateway software development team with focus in backend. In this critical role, you will design, build, and optimize backend APIs written in Go (Golang), supporting communications between the Edge Gateway, Edge Wireless Network Controllers, and Edge Motor Controllers. These systems power real-time monitoring, control, and analytics of solar tracker fleets worldwide.

As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in software, hardware, and cloud engineering. You will lead API design discussions, enforce best practices, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the scalability and resilience of distributed systems deployed globally. This is a hands-on role for a developer passionate about backend systems, IoT data pipelines, and high-availability architectures.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Go-based backend APIs for the Edge Gateway platform, ensuring robust communication with Edge Wireless Network Controllers and Edge Motor Controllers.
• Implement RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization mechanisms, and secure communication protocols (TLS, SSH, encryption).
• Build services for real-time data ingestion, processing, and storage, ensuring high throughput and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate IoT edge devices into cloud-based services.

We are looking for Software Developers to join our team, working with SAP Concur product, market leader in integrated travel, expense and invoice management.Your responsibilities will include designing and developing cloud products using various tools and technologies. • Pro-actively identify ways to make the solution more robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
• Work with fellow engineers to collaborate and share best practices, suggest innovations and improvements on architecture and processes.
• Work closely with product owners and incorporate feedback from product management, interaction designers, and other engineering teams.
• Own cloud services end-to-end, delivering distributed systems using AWS native services and best practices such as infrastructure as code, zero-downtime production deployments, frequent deployments and more.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
• Fluency using one or more of Golang, Kotlin, Typescript, React or similar programming languages Good experience in software product development with a focus on developing cloud services and solutions.

DESIRED:

• DevOps mentality understanding Continuous Delivery, Observability, etc.
• Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and/or AWS primitives such as EC2, AMIs, EKS, Dynamo, Code Deploy, etc is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with cloud native solutions

Work cross functionally with software, application, and quality engineers to ensure products meetengineering and client success criteria.

Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new processes and improvements

Present your designs and solutions to internal and external teams and review designs of software andquality engineers.

You are meant for this job if:

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent

Expertise in software engineering

Experience in User Experience (UX) design and interaction design

Experience in creating conceptual models, use cases/scenarios, personas, wireframes, mock-ups,user flow diagrams, prototypes, product roadmaps, style guides, and specification documents as partof a comprehensive design strategy

Experience defining success metrics with cross-functional teams to measure success of UX initiatives

Experience establishing and maintaining design standards and patterns for product areas assigned

Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence

Systems software programming knowledge of Windows and Linux OS

Working knowledge of backend frameworks such as Spring Boot /

Understanding of database technologies such as SQL, ODBC, and relational database schema design

Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), wired interfaces (Ethernet, USB), and wirelessinterfaces (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cell, Satellite)
