At Rain, we are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our remote team in LATAM. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in software development and a strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs. They should also possess a proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages such as Go / Golang, Java, Python, and C++.

We are looking for someone who can design and implement reliable systems and applications within a fully distributed micro-services architecture. The candidate should have experience building reliable and scalable user-facing applications and be proficient in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures.

As a member of our Enterprise Tribe, this engineer will collaborate with our product and engineering teams to provide financial freedom to over 1 million employees by managing the data ingestion of over 10 million timekeeping records per day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing robust technical solutions
• Leading engineering efforts to meet ambitious targets
• Building and maintaining integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners
• Designing and implementing highly available RESTful APIs supporting user-facing web and mobile applications
• Creating reusable code and libraries that can be shared across teams
• Enforcing observability best practices
• Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in software development
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
• Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages such as Go / Golang, Java, Python, and C++
• Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies and a solid understanding of database concepts and internals
